We now have 6 SOLE PEOPLE (4 men + 2 ladies) setting off with us on June 5th for the 1st leg of our month long 535km barefoot journey around Bali. Along the route we will be distributing health education manuals and presentations to teachers and children together with our health educator. Presentations like these are actually a proven way of saving many lives and cutting down health issues leading to children dying unnecessarily!

How it all started!
Arthur Jones, old friend from Shanghai, was the inspiration for starting SOLE MEN Indonesia! He decided to go without shoes, even through the freezing China winter, to raise money for underprivileged children in China and to walk 1,000 miles across the country to raise money for books for these poor children.
After meeting with him last October Robert decided to do similarly, but for poor children in Indonesia. After a brief discussion with his friend Beat they both decided to take off their shoes and created SOLE MEN Indonesia :)

Sole Men – A Brighter Future for Poor & Homeless Children in Indonesia
![]() |
| The 3 Sole Men! |
Raising money, awareness for, and promoting health and safety education for the poor homeless children in Indonesia, the SOLE MEN will start the first leg of their barefoot walks with a 535kilometer walk around Bali during June/July 2011.
The SOLE MEN expect to complete this in around 30 days and will pass through areas such as; Seminyak, Canggu, Denpasar, Ubud, Tabanan, Singaraja, Lovina, Alampura, Gianyar, Sanur and back into Kuta for a celebratory fund raiser event,
The Bali leg is just the first stage of the SOLE MEN INDONESIA 2,000 kilometer barefoot challenge. Over the 2,000km the two men have two main goals:
• To raise awareness, social responsibility and US$1,000,000 for the poor and homeless children of Indonesia
• Together with experienced health educators (doctor and nurse) to promote health and safety education to children in schools and the villages.
We ask for your kind sponsorship and support by gifting the children of Bali with your kindness by giving one or more of the following items from the list below:
• 1 Gallon Water Bottles or Boxes of Water
• Bags of Rice
• Vitamins and Nutritional Supplements
• Canned foods
• Powder Milk
• Toiletries and Sanitary Items
• Books appropriate for elementary, junior and senior high school levels
